Kizuna is open-source, self-hosted communication software. The Kizuna project does not operate any hosted chat service. This policy only covers this documentation website.

Data We Collect ​

We do not collect any personal data. This website:

  • Does not use cookies
  • Does not use analytics or tracking of any kind
  • Does not collect email addresses, names, or any other personal information
  • Does not have user accounts or login

Your browser may store your preferred color theme (light/dark mode) locally on your device using localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

Hosting ​

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. As part of providing their hosting service, Vercel may process standard server log data (such as IP addresses, browser type, and timestamps). Please refer to Vercel's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle this data.

Kizuna Software ​

Kizuna is self-hosted software. When you join or operate a Kizuna server:

  • The server operator is the data controller for any data processed on that server (messages, voice data, uploaded files, account information).
  • The Kizuna project has no access to data on any self-hosted instance.
  • If you self-host Kizuna, you are responsible for your own privacy policy and for complying with applicable data protection laws, including informing your users about what data you collect and how you process it.

Your Rights Under GDPR ​

If you are in the European Union, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation regarding your personal data. Since we do not collect any personal data through this website, there is no personal data to exercise these rights over.

For data held on a specific self-hosted Kizuna server, contact the operator of that server.
